Do you have sensory differences? Does this sound like you?

You know you have sensory differences, but are unsure what they are or how to accommodate them.
You’ve been assessed before, but the results didn’t make sense and there weren’t any practical strategies.
You’ve started accommodating yourself with some of the basics (e.g., noise cancelling headphones), but need more strategies to help your unique sensory profile.

Start accomodating your senses

Our Sensory Assessment & Recommendations service helps you understand and navigate your unique sensory needs through expert assessment, education, and tailored strategies. In a personalised session, we’ll walk you through your results and provide a detailed report with customised strategies, sensory tools, and accommodation recommendations to support your regulation and well-being across work, home, and community settings.

We’re passionate (and a little nerdy) about sensory processing, so we go beyond standard assessments to ensure our recommendations truly fit your needs. You’ll receive direct links to sensory aids or guidance on selecting your own, plus visual tools like a ‘community kit’ card to help integrate your strategies into daily life.

FAQ

What's included in the Sensory Assessment & Recommendations service?
  • Multiple Assessments: We conduct a range of assessments and questionnaires to gain a comprehensive understanding of your sensory needs across different environments, such as at home, in the community, and while engaging in everyday tasks like cooking, showering, or cleaning.
  • Information Gathering: We’ll gather detailed information and consolidate our assessment findings. We’ll also discuss your goals and any resources you’re hoping for.
  • Education: We’ll walk you through your sensory results and report, ensuring you fully understand your sensory profile. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and explore ways to implement the knowledge to best accommodate your needs. We’ll also discuss any additional support you may need, such as writing an AT support letter for NDIS or requesting workplace accommodations.
  • Sensory Report: You’ll receive a detailed sensory report that includes your assessment results and personalised strategies, presented in easy-to-understand formats. The report will feature a checklists you can print or use as you like.
  • Resources: You’ll be provided a sensory assistive aid database of sensory tools that relate to your profile. We’ll also provide educational materials to help you and your supports better understand how to meet your sensory needs.
  • Letter of Support: As an optional extra service, we can write a letter of support to assist in the purchase of sensory aids and other consumables. This letter will provide evidence to the NDIS to support funding for these items, and we’ll guide you on what is and isn’t eligible for funding.
What if I’ve already completed a sensory assessment before?

If you’ve already completed a sensory assessment but still feel unsure about your sensory needs or how to accommodate them, or if you’re seeking additional recommendations for sensory AT, we can review your past assessments. This will reduce the time spent in your assessment phase, saving you on billing. However, please note that our assessment process is more comprehensive than a single questionnaire. We gather information about your experiences in various contexts, which standard assessments may not fully capture. This approach allows us to provide more accurate and personalised recommendations.

How much does Sensory Foundation Cost?

Our Sensory Assessment & Report service requires a minimum of 3.5 hours (find exact cost here) which covers 1 session, assessment scoring and review, and a personalised report. However, you may choose to add more sessions or resources based on your needs-we let you decide how much input and support you’d like.

For NDIS participants, we like to reserve 8 hours to allow flexibility in case additional time and resources are needed (e.g., a letter of support for sensory aids or creation of visual aids). We’ll get your consent for billing additional hours over the 3.5 minimum hours.
